The Writers
Charlene A. McQueen is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Pharmacy, University of Arizona. Until January 2017, she was a Senior Scientist at the National Health Effects Research Laboratory of the USEPA. She served as the Director of the Integrated Systems Toxicology Division (2011-2016). Prior to that, she held positions at the Harrison School of Pharmacy, Auburn University (2007-2011) and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona (1990-2007). Dr McQueen received a M.S. in Pharmacology from New York University and Ph.D. in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan. Her work is in the areas of pharmacogenomics, toxicogenomics and chemical carcinogenesis. She has a particular interest in the genetic basis for response to xenobiotics.
