provides what you need for a comprehensive understanding of where GU oncology arose and where it is going. Many fine insights and helpful discussions of the many aspects of this complicated field.
Any textbook is dated as soon as it is published, but this is a fine volume for students of the art of GU oncology.

Good: The content is comprehensive for the practicing Urologist or Urologic Oncology Fellow who needs an instructive guidance in the overall management of patients with GU tract tumors.
Bad: The continent diversion (pouches, neobladder) section was slightly suboptimal in written text and illustrated art….color art should have been used, if not in the text, at least in the online image bank.
Good: The online content that is free with the book purchase is great to have. It has searchable content and can be accessed anywhere through the solution.lww.com website.

There are a few good “handbooks” for rad onc out there now. You have the loose-leaf book (MDACC), the little black book (Yale), and this. Each book is slightly different in what it tries to be and the information it contains. The loose-leaf/MDACC book is physically the smallest and most portable, and contains information on key studies and some generally useful tidbits on each disease. The little black book (2nd edition will be gold, apparently), is similar to the MDACC book, although it has a bit more information and goes into the studies more. Those two books are, in terms of content, inadequate review books (the best full review book on the market right now is the “Absolute Clinical Review” one), but make decent tumor board prep or quick, no-nonsense refreshers.
This book, however, is the best way to answer, “I haven’t treated X in a while, what volumes/doses/constraints should I use?” In bullet format are descriptions of indications for treatment, recommended dose ranges, target volumes and contours based on up-to-date guidelines, and reasonable dose constraints harvested from recent trials. Thus it is now my favorite “handbook” in this field. Highly recommended!

It says its from 2020. Maybe, but the contents are 20+ years old. Definetly not up to date, quite the contrary. Definetly not worth the money. Stay away!
