Don’t feel it is written to alleviate fears for younger kids

Wanted to really like it and hoped it would alleviate some night time fears for three and four year old grandkids. I feel there was way more time spent on the scary aspects and not near enough on taking away the scare. After reading it a couple of times, I ended up adding a lot more of my own story so the book ended with a fairly positive conclusion. I don’t think this book’s target audience is under the age of maybe six. I guess if they still have nighttime fears at that age, this book would work.

This is so cute, the little girl is her own hero and she comes up with a plan to scare her bad dreams away. We love this sweet little adventure.

Bedtime anxieties are a common problem in early childhood, & once again Dr. Robinson gives us a spunky, persistent protagonist who uses her creativity to master her fears. The wonderful illustrations by Lucy Fleming make this story inclusive & alive. Woe be to any monsters under the bed now that Pippa is here to show our children how it’s done!

Pippa’s Night Parade is a cute kids’ book with beautiful illustrations. Pippa is a little girl with a vivid imagination. Perhaps a little too vivid. She also likes to dress up and has an entire collection of dress-up clothes. (Reminds me of an imaginative little girl I once knew who liked to dress up.) Additionally, she seems to be a bit of a designer, making her own fashions out of whatever she has on hand. And she likes to read – or to be read to.
But Pippa has a problem when the monsters from her storybooks begin to invade her dreams.
Eventually, she decides she needs to do something about it. She invites them to a scary night parade. Then she attempts to contain them. But there are too many to tie up and lock up.
