Before moving to Kliniken Schmieder, Prof. Christoph Stippich was Director of the Clinic for Neuroradiology at the University Hospital Zurich and Deputy Chairman of the Swiss Society for Neuroradiology. Between 2009 and 2017 he was Head of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the University Hospital Basel. He studied human medicine at the Philipps University in Marburg, where he received his doctorate in 1995 in the field of neurosurgery. He began his medical training in neurology before switching to radiology in 1996. From 1997 to 2008 he worked at the Heidelberg University Hospital. There he completed his specialist training in radiology, followed by specializations in neuroradiology and medical quality management. In 2004 he habilitated in radiology and in 2007 he became an adjunct professor at the University of Heidelberg. In 2009 he was appointed to the Chair of Neuroradiology at the University of Basel and in 2018 at the University of Zurich.
