I received only 2 volumes out of 4 which i realized or came to know about very late.
Very disappointing. Still i am ordering again for the same as i am left with no other choice

Its in paperback format which makes its life too less. The previous editions had much better quality of paper and cover. The content is absolutely on point but the life of book is a major concern coz of the wrong format.

If you’re a med student you need this

If I could do my first year of med school over again, I would purchase this book right away. Let me preface this with saying I hate reading textbooks and usually get nothing out of it. I bought it at the beginning of my cardio block because I was struggling with the physiology. This book spoon fed me physiology in a way that no other resource did, and it did so at the exact level that I needed to succeed both in class and in Step practice questions. Also, it’s tagged in Zanki, so you can even do the Zanki cards after reading a chapter.

I’m a first year medical student and this book is an excellent review of physiology! The recommended readings for our lectures were from other books that were overwhelming and dense, but Costanza presents the salient information in an easy to digest format and language.

Excellent textbook to learn foundations

I bought one of these books for one of my biomedical physiology class and although our professor tests us nothing about these types of concepts, I feel like it helps me learn physiology more just for learning it for “fun.” I feel like I understand the biomedical pathways a lot better reading this and can explain it to others. The new textbook also comes with an Elsevier Student Inkling code access where you can get the pdf version and there are some other helpful resources online. I will definitely be keeping this book as a reference.

Dr. Costanzo has found a way to simplify one of the most advanced subjects in medicine. I used this book to supplement my lectures in masters level medical courses but I eventually found myself using it as a primary source.
I’m not saying you should read this book from front to back. When you get to the grad level/professional health school level, you simply have no time to do that. What you should do is utilize the tables, diagrams, and practice problems. I always say, look at any text book and the thickness will tell you the importance. The thicker the text, the more minutia within. Costanzo gives you the high yields and just enough of the devilish details to paint the whole picture (and feed your curiosity). I also highly recommend her brief lecture series that come with the access code.
Also- READ the introductory chapter of cell bio. It is an excellent refresher and really helps when you start on the different system chapters.
Every chapter in this book is great. However, I found the chapters on Cardio, Pulm, and Renal to be the most helpful.
