Everything you need to know about the subject

In this book, Steven Selikoff gives Inventors another path to success besides licensing. The book follows a step-by-step process through product evaluation, customer validation, industrial design, manufacturing, Chinese IP protection. quality assurance, marketing and sales. Real sales to retailers, not just e-commerce. If you love Stephen Key’s books for licensing, you will love Steven Selikoff’s book even more for every other method and aspect of Product Development.

Must Read For Product Development

While there were some editing errors and misspellings that would put me off most books, the shear volume of accurate, timely and actionable information contained in this book made those issues insignificant. I’ve ordered several books on product development and product sourcing and in total they have been pretty much a waste, until this book. It’s nice when you find a book that was written by someone with true expertise in their field. I sell on and have made multiple trips to foreign countries to locate products and manufacturers. I’ve been successful, but this book is going to elevate my game to new levels. It answered questions I didn’t even know I should be asking. I have not taken the author’s course and don’t plan to, so I’m not trying to score brownie points with my praise; I am just seriously impressed by this book. If you’re sourcing for e-commerce, or any retail platform really, buy this book now.

Written from experience, in way accessible to all

I bought this book because I am pursuing some ideas for some things I want to get made. The writer has been down every path I was thinking to go down, and his insights are preventing me from making some mistakes, plus opening doors to ideas I had not thought of. If your world concerns physical products, you should read this. I bought the Kndle version initially, but I’m going to also buy the print version so I can fold down pages – it’s that good.

Very Elementary and chock full of typos

An interesting book but very elementary. Good for someone with absolutely no product development experience. Covers a variety of important issues but completely skips the important steps for FCC, FDA, CE, CSA compliance, etc… hardly mentioned at all.

Also, for someone who keeps reiterating the importance of product quality, the author presents a book with spelling and grammar errors on every other page. Super annoying. I would gladly help the author by proofreading and supplying the vast number of fixes needed to clean this book up.

I would recommend for those starting a simple home business but not much more.
