Dr. Sally F. Shady has worked in industry for several years designing and developing medical devices. During her doctoral research at the University of Massachusetts, she investigated the synthesis and characterization of core-shell nanospheres encapsulated with antibiotics which were implanted into contact lenses. She has taught courses in medical device design, biomechanics, biomaterials and senior capstone design. She is currently an Associate Teaching Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology. Her interests are in biomechanics, biomaterials and enhancing medical device design through teaching pedagogy.
