Couldn’t be happier!

This is the most complete book. Among all the possibilitites that were over the internet about biochemistry resources, I really had hard time choosing a book. Finally, I read the table of contnts of this book, and, well… I decided to give it a chance. And really, I couln’t be happier! It provides a textbook learning experience while disclosing relevant information for USMLEstep1. I also bought the first aid for step 1 and, truly, there is no precision in the first aid that I didn’t already read in the Biochemistry book by Pankaja Naik. The text is organized in small paragraphs with bullets, and is pretty clear. Besides, the book also has a molecular biology section, a section about laboratory techniques, and another one about organ function test. Overall, gives way more than just basic biochemistry. Really derserves the five stars.

MUST HAVE for NURSING!!

I have the large textbook and was recommended to buy the pocket size edition. I appreciated the large version, so it made sense. Now having it in clinical placements, it is invaluable and great for studying on down time. If you are in any healthcare field, I recommend it, but for nursing students, you 100% should invest money in this book!

I wish I had purchased this book while in the earlier part of nursing school. Makes assessment of the patient easier. I feel more confident practicing and teaching my students. Highly recommend!

BE AWARE OF INACCURACIES!!!

The book is filled with inaccurate medical information. I have only been studying with it for 2 weeks have already run into 3+ misleading or false statements. Ie, Fitzgerald writes that the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine is first-line treatment for lupus. Okay, true. However, it then goes on to explain in the rationale that DMARDS are not used as first-line treatments for lupus. False, hydroxychloroquine IS a DMARD, and one of the main ones at that…
It also states that Bactrim and fluoroquinolones are the first lines treatments for UTI which is simply false. Fluoroquinolones are actually not even recommended for uncomplicated UTI’s anymore.
Should not be spending $100 on a book that is not medically inaccurate.
