This book keeps going around in circles and going nowhere. The reason for the events that took place is because of Isabella missing. There’s no movement on that, and there’s really not much on Olivia being held against her will. She’s just tortured in any way, she has her own room and though married against her will, everyone just exist in this book. It’s really boring.

I really enjoy Nicole Fox’s work, however, this is probably my least favorite. There is absolutely no chemistry between Aleks and Olivia. He was extremely rude to her and not in a banter way. It was just annoying and I was frustrated by how she would still be attracted to him.
I wasn’t a fan of her character type. It wasn’t very consistent. It would have been better to just show her being clumsy rather than telling us multiple times at the beginning of the book. There was a line like “You must hate that I’m a klutz.” It just sounded so cliche.
Also her random rambling to Aleks about her dad just seemed so out of character. Like “yeah I’ve just been kidnapped but let me vent to you about how my dad’s death has affected me and my family.”
Most importantly the size of the book. I LOVE long books. However this was long for absolutely no reason. It consists of the same thing every chapter. To be honest, shortening this book might have made the book better. There were too many things drawn out.
I am still going to read the next book because it will bother me if I don’t. Hopefully we some more chemistry.

Aleks is a dangerous man. He runs the Bratva and has been on the FBI’s radar for sometime now and he is doing everything in his power to eliminate that risk. The FBI Agent Robert is set on bringing him down and he is accusing him of kidnapping his fiancée Isabella. There are secrets there that are revealed throughout the book!

Olivia is Rob’s sister and she is taking by Aleks as collateral and to be used to keep her brother in line. However Aleks did not realize how strong his feelings would become for Olivia and he is torn between his duties as the head of the Bratva and his need to keep Olivia safe. He feeds her mind with just enough promises that he will one day let her go free but Olivia is having. A hard time believing him.

Some more secrets are revealed and she learns she will never be free from him and with the help of his mother Yulia she might have a chance at freedom. This book was filled with lust, passion, secrets, & lies. It was intense read and kept you on the edge of your seat. Their conclusion is set to be revealed in Book 2 & I’m excited to start it right away! Happy Reading!

This is the first book in a new series called Makarova Bratva. It’s a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged from start to finish. Warning: this book does end on a cliffhanger! There’s action, adventure, drama, danger, suspense, twist/turns, enemies, survival, intrigue, mystery/secrets, surprises, family, friends/friendships, anger, fear, pain, conflict, resolution, confusion, confidence, strength, courage, trust, truths, stubbornness, struggles, kidnapping, tension, arrogance, doubts, turmoil (emotional), annoyance, complications, loneliness, betrayal, lies, deception, loyalty, manipulating, threats, frustration, determination, patience, happiness, romance, passion/lust and love.
