Day 1 and we love the book!
September 20, 2020

My 12 year old and I love this work book and we just got it today. I decided to get the book when my daughter started expressing anxiety symptoms. At first she showed no reaction or interest, I then proceeded to read the intro out loud (since I’m personally interested in reading it, I work with kids) and right when I put it down to ask if she was interested she said “ no keep going mom, let’s read the 1st chapter “ !! That moment I realized I’ve made a very good choice!!! We plan on reading a chapter every day follow by a chapter discussion. I definitely recommend this book to all mothers that are trying to help their pre-teens cope with anxiety issues, especially since their going through so many emotional and physical changes!!!!! This is a great book. It explains things easy and up to their capacity without it sounding to “clinical” or overwhelming! Love it.

It’s a quick read and a helpful guide that works for both teens, and the adults who are trapped in their homes with them.

An excellent evidence-based guide for teens with anxiety
May 8, 2020

This book will be helpful to adolescents struggling with anxiety, either as a a stand-alone guide to provide cognitive-behavioral strategies for anxiety, or as an adjunct to treatment. It can be a challenge to encourage teens to ask for help when they need it – so often they may not recognize that they are struggling, or they may feel reluctant to share how hard things are for them. I can imagine a parent handing their teen this book to help open that door, and set them off on the right course to seek evidence-based care that will help. It is accessible, engaging, and structured well – as a clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety, I know I will be handing it out to my teen clients. I highly recommend it.

Interesting read with okay printing

I bought this book for a friend who is suffering from anxiety-induced panic attacks. Before I gifted it, I wanted to read through it so we could talk about it when they finished reading it.

The content of the book is really geared towards teens and young adults still in school. It breaks down and defines different types of anxiety and provides helpful tools and practices to aid you in relieving anxiety. I think it’s a good read that is easy to understand while not making the reader feel dumb for not knowing some of the more technical terms. Additionally, it’s a quick read. For someone who dreads reading dense paragraphs in books because of how long it’ll take me to get through it, I was able to read this book within a couple of hours in one day. It uses some real-world examples teens might have experiences to help them understand some of the concepts and how they can be alleviated. The book isn’t going to instantly get rid of your anxiety, but it gives you simple tools to help you process some of the anxiety people might suffer.

As far as book quality, I opened the package it was shipped in and it looked good and is made of decent quality. My only concern is the printing quality on some of the pages. As you can see in the pictures, the printing on some of the pages is faded or very light all down the page in the same area. I’ve had it for a whole day so it can’t be anything I have done. This might have been an error on only my book, but other than that, it of good quality.
