A heartfelt and caring look at how it feels to murder people through bureaucratic ineptitude
October 16, 2020

I enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed reading the “Confessions of My Majestic Wonderfulness” by Joseph Stalin and “Another Great Day Being Me” by Pol Pot — equally enlightening books, showing the heartfelt emotion of lovingly, caressingly killing people, while getting to blame others!

All kidding aside, one has to have some empathy, in that Cuomo was faced with a virulent virus with a population that is woefully unhealthy and with a population pyramid which itself has a fat belly

But here’s a real critique: The decision to return COVID positive patients to nursing homes killed thousands, a fact he refuses to take any responsibility for. The lockdowns and restrictions created an utter devastation to the economy. Lead by science? Let’s remember that “lead by science” was also the hallmark of the eugenics movement in Nazi Germany; one doesn’t dismiss science, but the science during COVID has been simply terrible and totally politicized.

COVID is a dangerous disease, but Cuomo’s audacity in writing a book on “leadership lessons” just stinks.

Collection of falsehoods

My original review was deleted. My opinion has not changed. The governor’s book is a collection of lies that caused the cruel neglect and needless deaths of thousands. Congratulations Crown Publishing; you foisted this fiction on the public and made a lot of money at the cost of your integrity.

Book raises embarrassing questions
October 26, 2020
Governor Cuomo’s self-serving book raises embarrassing questions. Politicians being human make mistakes. Andrew Cuomo, as scientists agree, made a serious error that led to thousands of unnecessary tragic deaths in nursing homes. Shouldn’t a politician like Cuomo have a moral obligation to admit his error even, as in this case, it is likely to lead to him losing his position, his chance to be president of the US, and law suits?
The governor also engaged in what many call hypocrisy. When it seemed wise, he praised President Trump. Then when he felt it was unwise to continue doing so, despite no change in their relationship, and despite the praise he lavished on the president for the help he gave New York, he blamed the president for the deaths he caused. What does this say about politics? Isn’t the governor giving politics a bad name? Seeing his behavior, doesn’t this prompt us to stop believing what politicians say? Shouldn’t we extend the phrase “fake news” and speak also of “fake politicians”? Despite many others throughout history and today doing what he is doing, shouldn’t we give Governor Cuomo the distinction of highlighting this concept?

Easy read. Insightful. Remembering what it was like when it was happening in real time
October 14, 2020

With all the Monday morning quarterbacking that is going on right now with how Governor Cuomo handled the COVID invasion in NY, this book is a reminder of what it was like in real time. The Fog of Covid19. There was little information for the Gov and his team to work with. Trump was very little help, even though now we know, per Woodward, he did know back in Jan. Cuomo and other governors were doing the best they could with the little they had to go on. It’s unfair, and unjust to Monday morning quarterback any of the governors. To his critics who will undoubtedly speak up. If you hate him that much, then run for office yourself. See what YOU can do. See what YOU accomplish. Cuomo filled a void, and based on the 10s of millions of people who tuned into his briefings during that mind-numbing time, it was sorely needed. This is a great book you are wanting to understand what was happening in the moment.

Beautifully written and well told. Governor Cuomo retells his journey from Covid day 1 in NY. Very heartfelt read. You can feel his emotions and sympathize with each decision he made.
He is a stand up man who truly has saved our country from getting worse!
