Intent only on refueling before moving along on his road trip, he finds sustenance of an entirely different kind. In addition to the specials of the day, the cafe menu lists three questions all diners are encouraged to consider:

Why are you here?

Do you fear death?

Are you fulfilled?

With this food for thought and the guidance of three people he meets at the cafe, John embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way he discovers a new way to look at life, himself, and just how much you can learn from a green sea turtle.

99 pages to say three things: * don’t get sucked into advertising. Take the self-control measures to avoid advertising and its stranglehold on its victims. * Take responsibility for every one of your choices and actions. Do that consistently. * pay attention to what makes you happy, thrilled, satisfied and fulfilled. Invest your time, money and energy in those things. And – I would add: Don’t be a selfish pig. The end. Now go and spend your money on a better book.

I recommend this book to anyone. I was in a transitional period in life when I found this book. I had just moved to a brand new state where I didn’t know many people, while also starting a new job. This book opened up my perspective on life and really helped me make the transition into a new life smoothly.

I have given this book to a few of my friends and they also really enjoyed it.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this book to an adult

I did not care for this book. It was as if the protagonist needed everything explained to him as would a 5 year old. Every “clue” to the next “big revelation,” given by the cafe employees, was annoyingly accompanied by a wink and a nod (or in this case a cryptic smile). If you can somehow ignore that, the overall message, though nothing new, is worth pondering but, in my opinion, it was pretty predictable and not the great story that it’s reviews would have you believe it would be. Just my opinion.

The book is short, but there were so many times when I was reading it that I found myself highlighting something important.

Trying to change your life can be difficult and overwhelming. So it was good to sit back, read, and think about the things that really matter to me and what I’m passionate about.

I encourage anyone who is looking to change their life for the better to read this book. It will help you find your purpose and turn it into your reality.

I bought this book to read on my kindle. My mom had read it and recommended it to me because I am currently trying to figure out exactly what profession I want to go into. I can’t say I’m 100 percent clear yet on what I want to do but I am light years ahead after reading it.
It really helped me think about what matters most in life and who I should surround myself with. I think anyone at any stage in life could find good insight from this book.

What am amazing new way of thinking about life. You can think of it as a chore or have fun while your life is navigating. This may be the case after reading this adventure. The cafe is a little place to go for a great piece of pie, but more so a great story from a wonderful new friend. Things you learn about places, things and people of our history is never a chore only a delightful refreshing thrill. Anything to make a difference in the world.
