Hidden Secrets

A mystery of secrets. I read a lot of historical fiction book, but once in a while I like to take a break and read a good mystery, especially in an audio book. The narrator is always so much more dramatic than my mind. This author is one of my favorite.

Secrets, especially those hidden for year, always come out. You hear of tragic events happening to others, but you never think anything like that could, would or ever has happened to you, your family, or you friends. You never suspect you husband nor your best friend of keeping secrets from you.

When Sarah visits her in laws, sees a picture of her husband when he was young with some friends and her mother in law tells her about the missing boy that was never found she listens and doesn’t think anything about it. Then she tells Sarah about the bomb shelter in the back yard that the kids used for a clubhouse and all of a sudden her son wanted it to be locked away and covered over. Then Sarah starts wondering.

When she starts snooping around tragic event happen and what she has started she cannot stop. Secrets are never good and they are always going to cause trouble for someone.This is a story told of those hidden secrets which some thought would never come to light but somehow manage to reveal themselves and cause tragedy.214 Palmer Street A completely gripping psychological thriller PDF

I listened to the audio book, and the narration was clear and easy to understand, the speed was perfect and the character differences were distinguishable.

I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.

Many years ago 214 Palmer street had a bomb shelter on its property. As teenagers, Kirk and his friends used it as a hangout. Eventually the bomb shelter was closed up and buried.

Now, Kirk is happily married to Sarah and living in their own house. 214 Palmer Street is owned by another couple.

After Sarah is mysteriously hit over the head in her own backyard things start to change in her life. New things about her husband and his past come to light. Sarah wonders why she has never heard about any of them. Bored at home after giving up her job due to the attack Sarah begins to investigate her husbands past.

I was interested in this book right from the start. I liked the alternate points of view and timelines. The characters were all realistic if not all likeable. A fast paced read for the most part. While there weren’t any big surprises for me I still enjoyed the story.

This was my first book by this author and I will look into reading more of her work.
